Introduce the world to a new smartphone platform
One week before Google announced the launch of Android, its mobile phone platform, and the Open Handset Alliance, which would support it, we got a call down at the Google Creative Lab to do something to announce it. The whole world was abuzz with the possibility of a gPhone to rival the iPhone, so we knew whatever came out would get a lot of attention. No pressure. Somehow we made not one, but three videos in a week. These are the two I wrote and helped produce.
INTRODUCING ANDROID
To inspire developers to create apps for the new platform, we went to the people who had created it and asked them to talk about how Android got started.
OPEN
Because the Open Handset Alliance was a bit more abstract to explain, I took a metaphorical approach that aimed to expand the way people thought about what it means to be "open."
